She/Her

Hello and welcome to Valid Love! I’m Kaelin, and I’m a licensed clinical social worker who is passionate about helping clients connect to a sense of aliveness. My favorite question from clients is “Can I really do that?” Can I really eat the foods that my body wants, choose not to follow rigid anxiety rituals, pursue the kind of sex I truly want to have, or ask my partner for a deeper, more connected relationship? Can my life feel full, vivid, and satisfying? I am here to support you in answering ‘yes.’ It takes insight and hard work to go from surviving to thriving, but my experience has been that clients are much more capable than they initially believe.

I’ve been lucky in my career to work with a wide range of presenting issues and clinical modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, emotionally focused therapy, Gottman method, exposure therapy, dialectical behavior therapy skills, compassion-focused therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I currently specialize in treating eating disorders, anxiety disorders, sex and sexuality questions, relational challenges ,religious trauma, OCD, and ADHD. However, the principle that guides my clinical approach across these diverse issues is my favorite therapy fact: that the most influential factor in a client’s healing is the relationship between the client and the therapist. Nurturing that relationship is the greatest focus in my therapeutic approach. It takes a lot of bravery to trust a stranger with your vulnerabilities, and I do not take this trust for granted. I firmly believe that every client possesses the ability to overcome their challenges, and I am grateful for the opportunity to support my clients in their journey to recognize this strength.
